“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed.  But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.” -- John 3:14-21 (NLT)

Thank You from the Peltons:  We wish to thank our church family for the love shown to us at the annual church meeting last Sunday.  The First Baptist Church Family has always been a very special part of our lives. Together we have been members and served our church for 123 years. It has been a sincere pleasure and a source of our spiritual strength to be part of a God-centered, loving, caring and devoted church family, through the good and hard times of our life journey. 2024 Annual Meeting:  The Annual Meeting of the First Congregational Church of Hanover will be held at Trumbull Hall at the Etna Church, this Sunday March 10, 2024 following our worship service.  Online access will be available as well. Please email the church office for the link if you'd like it.

Joining Journeys: If you consider this church family your home church but haven’t yet made it official, you're invited to an upcoming information meeting on Sunday, March 24, right after the morning service. Pastor Chris would love to share with you the journey our church is on and what membership means, as well as answer any questions you might have.

Alpha 2024:  Alpha is a night of eating and group discussion. We look at some of the big questions of life, the answers that the Christian faith gives to those questions, and then everyone is invited to share their own thoughts in a safe and judgement-free space. You're invited, no matter your background or beliefs. If you're asking, “Is this really for someone like me?” the answer is “yes!” It's completely free and there's no pressure to come back. Alpha meets in Trumbull Hall Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm.  If you're still curious -- and we urge you to Stay Curious! -- please join us this week, even if you couldn't be there last week.  We'd all love to see you at Alpha!  Invite your friends, colleagues, and neighbors.

Time Keeps on Slippin', Slippin'... Early Sunday morning, March 10, 2024, it's time for a change!  Yes, that's right.  Ready or not, Daylight Saving Time starts at 2 AM Sunday morning.  Your smart devices, of course, will take care of this for you, but if you have any not-so-smart timekeeping technology, we'd encourage you to remember to Spring Forward one hour before you retire on Saturday night.  Yes, technically you'll lose an hour's sleep, but we want to be sure that you get to church (or "tune in" our livestream) on Sunday morning at the right time:  10 am EDT (which was 9 am EST).  
If for some reason Daylight Savings Time starts without you (i.e., if you don't quite make it to church on time Sunday) -- no worries! You'll always be able to watch Sunday's service replayed "on demand" via Youtube, and of course the sermon video will also be available from the church's website.
