Weekly Updates by Mark HardyUPDATES: WEEK OF JUNE 11, 2023
…[Jesus said] Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? Matthew 6:28b – 30 NLT
Guest Speaker: Dale Edwards, executive director of the American Baptist Churches of Vermont and New Hampshire, will deliver the sermon on Sunday morning. Dale was instrumental in our searches for a pastor in the recent past. We thank Dale and welcome him back! We also take this opportunity to acknowledge Dale’s faithful and devoted service as he retires at the end of this month. We pray for showers of God’s blessings on Dale in the next stage of his journey!
Flowers: We are ever grateful for the beautiful flowers that grace our Sunday morning services. If you’d like to contribute flowers for the altar, please talk with Jane Patch, Susan Johnson, or Rhonda Fenton. Thank you!
Crafting Together: It’s June (for those of you keeping score at home), so it’s time for the next meeting of the crafters! This fellowship group meets on Monday, June 12 at 1 pm in Trumbull Hall. Bring a craft and enjoy the company of others while you knit, sew, or pursue some other way of making things.
Old Timers’ Fair 2023: The Old Timers’ Fair in Hanover Center is back this summer! Mark your calendars for 5-9 pm Friday, June 23, and 9 am to 2 pm Saturday, June 24, when the fair returns. On Friday, enjoy a White Elephant sale, a book sale, chicken barbecue dinner (at 5:30), and a concert by Brooks Hubbard from 6 to 9 pm. On Saturday, the white elephant, book, and bake sales continue, plus there will be an auction, and hamburgers, hot dogs, beverages and other goodies for sale. See the table at the rear of the church for information on whom to call if you can help. Thank you!
You can also visit us on Facebook!
You can also click here to open this year’s fair poster PDF. Thanks to all of those working to make this possible. We hope to see you at the fair!
Zumba: Join us in Trumbull Hall for heart-healthy, fun exercise Mondays at 10 am! Questions? Contact Rhonda Fenton.
